Garden bed 09 - September 2025
Each garden bed is divided into 8 "Units" - see letter A, B, C, D, E, F,G & H on long side wooden sleepers. This helps us locate the plant areas for seeding, planting seedlings, harvesting and so on

Snow Peas
A snow pea plant is a fast-growing, annual, cool-season vine in the pea family (Pisum sativum var. saccharatum) that produces edible, flat, green pods containing immature peas.
Harvest snow peas when the pods are young, flat, and tender, before the peas inside start to swell, typically around 7-10 cm long.

Broad beans
A broad bean plant is a bushy, annual legume (Vicia faba or fava bean) that grows well in cool temperate climates and is best sown in autumn or early winter for a spring harvest.
Broccoli
Broccoli plants (*Brassica oleracea var. italica) are cool-season crops grown for their edible flowering heads. To grow them, start seeds indoors 6 weeks before the last frost, then transplant them into a sunny, fertile location with well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Keep the soil consistently moist and feed the plants with compost. Harvest when the main central head is tight and full, as the plant will continue to produce smaller side shoots.
